According to Wistia, most software brands want to invest more in video but 40% of them don’t have a video strategy.  🤔

Bar chart with a question about "Do You have a video strategy" It shows that 60% of people replied "Yes", while 40% "replied no.

That’s a big problem.

If you feel that you’re spending hours filming, editing and uploading videos that don’t give you results, or chasing the latest trends, then we want to help.

We believe that no one should be spending time creating content that doesn’t bring them results. And that's exactly what happens when you don't have a strategy.

So what’s a video strategy? It’s a plan of actions that help you build trust with your customers using video. Whether it’s through your website, social media or email, these videos will help you showcase your software business in an engaging and informative way that will make it clear for your customers how you can help them.

It’s all about building trust.

Now why is it so important?

Well, there’s a ton of stats that confirm that video is effective. Now those are very impressive stats, right? But the most important question we like to ask ourselves is: “would I rather read a how-to article or watch a how-to video?” A good video strategy will help you increase awareness, trust and conversions for your business, but video marketing is not just a walk in the park, it requires planning, creativity and technical skills.

What makes videos effective?

We see all the time that video is one of the most effective types of content. But what makes it so effective and how can you make the most of it in your marketing? I want to share my favorite 4 reasons that make video so effective, and that Tyler Lessard puts amazingly in his best-selling book, The Visual Sale:

  1. Educational: Videos make topics easier to process and to remember.
  2. Engaging: They enable us to tell stories and hold the audience’s attention.
  3. Emotional: They can evoke joy, anticipation, trust and other emotions.
  4. Empathy: They help us relate and connect on a human level.

As you can see, video is a powerful tool to build trust with your customers and grow your business. But without a video marketing strategy, you might be wasting your time and resources on creating videos that don’t align with your goals and audience. That’s why we want to help you create a video marketing strategy that works for you and your business.

Before we start talking about the nitty gritty of video marketing, and sharing some examples, we want to get some myths out of the way. If you've been in the marketing space, you probably have some myths about video and we'll be addressing them in our next post.
